We exhibit at several exhibitions but we’re not getting the response we used to!
Exhibitions have changed. In the past if you wanted new information you had to visit a show every year. On display were the latest product, new innovations and many items never seen before.
Today we have the internet. We seek new product information and we go online. Our market has expanded beyond our own small country to a much wider pool.
With overseas couriers it’s easy enough to get items shipped in as well.
So what is the purpose of exhibitions in 2008? We think they could be usefully used to
- Educate potential customers
- Meet existing customers – as they were always used
- Advertise for staff
- Advertise for customers!
- Gather market research information
- Encourage warm leads to visit, meet and view actual products
- Launch new products
If you have a marketing budget you may want to think about other ways of spending the money and reducing what you spend at exhibitions – unless they really work for you in your sector.
